    Where to I make “security exceptions” to allow a site management service to automatically update plugins, etc, etc. I generally use ManageWP and it has no problem, but iControl, which I am switching to, is Locked Out by the firewall and other security measures.

    I am not familiar with iControl, does it use the XMLRPC feature? If so, you can allow access to you XMLRPC in the Firewall Settings or you can add the iControl server IP addresses to the “allow” list in your .htaccess file.
